Opportunities
I am open to a range of engagements. Below is an honest summary of what I am looking for and what I bring to each type of opportunity. If any of these sounds like your situation, I would welcome the conversation.
I work best in engagements where there is a genuine problem to solve -- a transformation that is stalled, an AI programme that is not landing, an ITSM function that needs honest assessment and redesign. I am not looking for retainer agreements where I attend meetings and produce reports. I am looking for work where I can make a measurable difference.
Typical engagement shapes: diagnostic assessment with roadmap delivery, embedded transformation leadership, programme recovery, and advisory alongside an internal team. Engagements can range from a focused two-week discovery to a multi-month transformation partnership.
Industry fit: software, financial services, retail, and adjacent sectors where IT operations and service management are business-critical. I am also open to sectors I have not worked in before, provided the problem is in my area of expertise.
Discuss an engagementI am selectively open to senior technology leadership roles -- VP, Director, or CTO level -- particularly where the brief involves building or transforming an IT function, leading an AI adoption programme, or navigating M&A integration. The right role would give me the opportunity to combine my operational experience with the team-building and talent development work I find most meaningful.
I am drawn to organisations that take technology seriously as a business function -- not as a cost centre to be managed down, but as a capability to be invested in. Company size is less important than the quality of the leadership team and the scope of the problem.
Location: open to discussion. I have worked at global scale and am comfortable with distributed leadership environments.
Get in touchI am open to working with other consultants and advisory practices where our capabilities complement each other. If you are a strategy consultancy that needs operational delivery credibility, an AI company that needs enterprise change management experience, or an independent consultant who wants a senior technology partner for a larger engagement -- let us talk.
I am also open to speaking engagements, podcast appearances, and similar opportunities where the topic is AI adoption, IT operations transformation, or the human side of automation. My approach to these is the same as my consulting: plain language, grounded in real experience, no hype.
Explore a partnershipI want to be straightforward about this, because it saves everyone time. I am not interested in engagements where the deliverable is a report that will not be acted on, roles where technology is treated as a pure overhead function, or partnerships built around volume of activity rather than quality of outcomes.
I am also not a good fit for organisations that want me to validate a decision that has already been made. If you need an honest assessment, I will give you one. If you need someone to confirm what you already believe, I am probably not the right person.
The best way to work out whether there is a fit is to talk. No lengthy pre-qualification process. Just a direct conversation about your situation and what you are trying to achieve.
